In this newly established role, you will be accountable for finance, operations, IT, and HR, reporting directly to the CEO.
As the Senior Finance & Operation Manager of a biotech firm with a growing staff of 24 professionals, you will have the responsibility of overseeing the traditional responsibilities associated with this role, including the management of the company's financials, establishing and maintaining relationships with banks, handling insurance matters, negotiating leases, developing and implementing IT strategies, streamlining HR processes, managing facility negotiations, etc. You will be tasked with creating and executing structures and processes that will support the goal of making Biosyntia the best company it can be.
Your work will cover many topics and directly impact executive decision-making. In addition, you will work closely with, and be supported by, Biosyntia´s external bookkeeper on executing financial matters as well as their administrative assistant on executing e.g. HR initiatives. You will be interacting with decision-makers across the company such as CXOs, department heads and project leaders, advising them on financial matters, including analyses on key decisions.
In your day-to-day operations, you can expect to be responsible for:
- Financial reporting and decision analyses to the company executives and the board
- The company’s financial models, essential in fundraising processes
- HR processes with execution support from the administrative assistant
- Managing the company’s IT set-up, including IT security and rights management
- Handling interactions with facility mgmt., insurance contracts, and bank relations
- Preparing relevant company reporting, such as KYC and ESG reporting
- Overseeing and advising on all finance-related activities, including bookkeeping, cost control, etc.

what describes the ideal candidate?
To be successful in this role, your approach to everything is characterized by a strong focus on structure, but you also thrive in the dynamic and constantly evolving environment that is typical of start-ups. You embrace challenges that are outside of your comfort zone and take responsibility for tasks beyond your area of expertise, all in the pursuit of reaching Biosyntia’s goals.
You possess a unique combination of attention to detail when analyzing numbers and the ability to independently and proactively take a strategic view to drive improvements.
In addition to the above, Biosyntia would prefer that you have:
A relevant university M.Sc. degree within finance, economics, or the like:
- 5+ years of relevant experience, perhaps as a controller, financial advisor or manager, finance business partner, or similar
- Experience with handling and modeling large data in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with communication of decision proposals, both verbally and in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English (Danish is a plus)
- Previous experience with running operations outside finance topics is a plus, but not a requirement
