For our Nacelle & Hub Department within the Technology Section we are looking for a skilled Composite Design Engineer. The department has the responsibility to develop the offshore Nacelle and Hub modules, from concept to tested and verified products, ready for handover to serial production.

In this role, you will become part of a dynamic and international R&D environment where we work with the latest and most advanced technologies within wind power, contributing to future green energy solutions.

What are my responsibilities?

• Develop conceptual GRP 3D models, including principles for enclosure assembly, laminate plans, structural reinforcements and design considerations, e.g. lightning and EMC protection.
• Ensure design meets criteria for cost, quality, manufacturability and ease of assembly.
• Ensure cross-functional involvement in conceptual design work.
• Extreme- and fatigue load calculations and analyses.
• Participate in supplier selection and evaluation.
• Technical ownership during prototype fabrication and serial production, both at supplier and at local manufacturing facilities.
• Technical sparring during supplier development.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• You have an educational background as a mechanical engineer or naval architect with preferably 5 years of experience within composites design, primarily from the wind turbine industry but can also be from the marine industry. Alternatively you are a skilled newly graduate with a flair for composites design and a good educational
track record.
• You have documented experience with GRP manufacturing and composite structural analysis.
• You have a thorough and structured approach to your work.
• You are an independent and pro-active self-starter and persistent in reaching your goals.
• You strive in a cross-functional, international setting and understand team dynamics.
• You possess fairness and are trustworthy
• You possess excellent English skills both orally and in writing.
