Empowered to meet technical challenges

Providing operations with high-end technical solutions and ensuring continuous improvements, you will play an important role in our continued expansion worldwide. From day one, you will get responsibilities to engage in projects and help solve operational challenges. In our team-oriented environment, you will work among colleagues who are highly skilled and passionate about what they do. The variety of possibilities and the empowerment we provide, will allow you to grow and gain new experiences.

We offer you an international career opportunity in a growing, green and global company and an engineering function that supports ROCKWOOL production facilities worldwide.

Join us to contribute your ideas on improving our solutions – from in-house mechanical equipment design to higher sustainability – and play an important part in growing and innovating the production technology in the ROCKWOOL Group.

This is who we are

You will be part of Group Technology in Hedehusene, Denmark – part of the main organisation of ROCKWOOL International – where we create and deliver machines and production equipment as well as entire production lines for our international production sites. In this department, you will join Hot End, Fluids, Waste & Abatement department with 30 colleagues with strong engineering backgrounds within mechanical design and project management.

“We all take on an independent responsibility to deliver ROCKWOOL core technology to our production facilities. We can only do so because we trust and empower each other to do what we do best as we are part of the entire development process – from initial idea to installation and commissioning and hand over of a final solution,” says Department Manager Søren Ballisager.

This is the role

You will head up a group of 10-12 mechanical engineers. This means that you will take on the overall responsibility for Group activities, delivering projects and services in a professional framework. The aim is to continuously optimize the output from the department and from ROCKWOOL’s engineering function, Group Technology.

Naturally, a good part of your work will involve people management and planning resources for projects, but a large part of your day will also revolve around the technical responsibility for the equipment we deliver. This also means that you will have the technical dialogue with your team and other colleagues as you:

• Optimize the set-up to improve individual and departmental performance
• Coach your team members and act as their professional sounding board
• Work with colleagues inside your area of expertise as well as from other departments, such as process specialists and electrical engineers
• Travel around 40 days per year to the US, Asia, Russia and within Europe to maintain your technical knowledge and understanding of working methods at the different production sites

This is what you offer

In this position, it is important that you are not afraid to bring your own ideas to the table while also driving the development of our existing standards and your team. We are looking for a motivational leader who can facilitate great teamwork in order for the team to deliver successfully in a project organisation.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

• Hold a degree in engineering combined with a solid background within mechanical engineering
• Preferably have some years of experience with project management within engineering and possibly line management
• Have a profound technical understanding
• Have excellent communication skills and are fluent in English – additional languages are a plus

This is what we offer

ROCKWOOL is company that has 80 years of experience developing and leading products within the stone wool industry. In addition to the extensive expertise, ROCKWOOL is a workplace of strong community values which contribute to fostering the well-being of supportive colleagues and experts.

ROCKWOOL is a company with an international mindset that allows you to be challenged on perspectives and ideas from diverse teams and colleagues. Moreover, you will be part of an organisation offering personal and professional development with a high degree of empowerment and multiple internal career options.
