Then you may be the right person for the position as Senior Design Engineer at Vattenfall.

On behalf of Vattenfall, Randstad are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to claim responsibility for their technical department and for new foundation solutions with focus on floating foundations.

about the job

As Vattenfall’s new Senior Design Engineer, based in either Denmark, Germany, or the Netherlands, you will be part of the process of creating industry-leading designs for Vattenfall’s offshore wind foundations. This includes design assessment as well as full industrialization of competitive floating foundation solutions.

The job has great potential, many possibilities and comes with great responsibility, and you would be contributing to a growing organization with special focus on the offshore wind sector.

your responsibilities


•Engaging and leading in floating foundation development and providing optimized solutions for the full lifecycle of the product
•Supporting the organization by giving practical advice and providing technical solutions based on hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of industry best practice
•Participating in the drafting of standards and guidelines considering technological, commercial and safety aspects
•Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
•Leading maturation of new foundation design concepts
•Total cost of ownership approach throughout the whole product lifetime
•Experience in mooring and anchoring would be beneficial

your profile

You are a structural or mechanical engineer with solid experience in ocean engineering. You possess the ability to create an overview of complex topics and evaluate the best outcome taking all aspects into consideration. You work independently while sharing and seeking knowledge in the team.

•MSc in structural/mechanical engineering/naval architecture
•5+ years of relevant experience with structural design, preferably from the offshore wind industry
•Fluent in English, both in speech and writing

You are a real team player, you are proactive, pragmatic and creative and you are able to work independently and manage your own work. You handle pressure well and are able to focus on several projects at the same time.

location

Office location is flexible at one of Vattenfall’s locations in Kolding DK, Copenhagen DK, Hamburg GE or Amsterdam NL. Occasional travelling within Northern Europe should be expected.
