Senior Financial Analyst, Nordic


Would you like to work for a leading global media organization? Do you have significant post-qualification experience specializing within forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting? On behalf of Turner Broadcasting, we are currently recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Turner family in Copenhagen.

Reporting to the Finance Director for Northern Europe and MENAT based in the London office, you will have full P&L responsibility for Turners TV channels in the Nordics.

Key duties and responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include managing the forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning processes, month end and ad hoc reviews for the Nordics, providing accurate financial projections for Turners channels.
You will also provide ad hoc support for new business initiatives, commercial negotiations and distribution renewals, to gain real insight into how an international media organization operates.

The day to day:
• Ensure opportunities and risks are clearly identified and communicated
• Planning, forecasting and budgeting for areas of the Nordic P & L or where assigned by the Finance Director
• Prepare variance analyses based on business drivers
• Month end performance assessment vs latest forecasts
• Ad hoc reporting – cost tracking reports, channel P & L’s
• ROI assessments of programming and marketing spend as required
• Preparation of standardized reporting ready for FD review (offline costs trackers, revenue reports, forecast decks etc.)
• System support including data interface into Hyperion, management of data as required from Vision, i-Bravo, i-Ramon, Landmark
• Provide financial support and analysis on new business initiatives and commercial negotiations as required
• Develop innovative analyses that measure financial and operational performance in ways not captured on basic financial statements
• Conduct revenue, expense and trend analysis and other comparative analyses
• Liaise closely with the Finance Shared Service Centre to gain a full understanding of actuals/management and statutory accounts and to understand any accounting or transactional issues
• Drive continuous improvement in financial planning and analysis, make recommendations and implement agreed changes

The successful candidate

The ideal candidate is a team player that takes initiative, and has a proven record of accomplishments from a similar role, probably as Finance Analyst, Finance Business Partner or Business controller, working in an international matrix organization.

The essentials:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or CPA is desirable)
• You have significant post-qualification experience specializing within forecasting, budgeting and long range plan processes
• You have experience of acting as a business partner to non-finance teams and are very familiar with core FP & A responsibilities
• You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and are able to share complex information to non-finance stakeholders
• Fluent English is essential for this role, as you will be working closely with the Financial Director and the Northern Europe team in London as well as other locations
• You have strong interpersonal and relationship skills, and are comfortable with communicating and reporting to senior management
• You have desire for ownership, and the ability to operate independently in a fast paced dynamic environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multitask and prioritize while demonstrating sense of urgency
• You are an advanced Excel user and ideally, you have experience with PeopleSoft, Hyperion or similar systems
