Are you a strong and very skilled Technical Consultant?

Then take a look at this opportunity:

For our customer, Frontsafe, we are looking for a Technical Consultant to join their strong team of backup specialists. In this role, you will be working closely with the Frontsafe Technical Support, Operations and Sales teams, reporting to Frontsafe Support Team Lead and the Europe Operations Team Lead. You will play a critical part in identifying and defining customers’ business backup/disaster recovery requirements and translating these into technical roadmaps. You can expect to spend a lot of your time with FrontSafe talking to and learning about their customers, on the back of which you will make recommendations to the Operations, Sales and Support teams on how best to meet and exceed customers’ expectations now and into the future. Your role will be to translate the customer’s wishes into a technical reality.

You will be:
• Working with the sales team to create solutions that will help customers to meet their   backup requirements (RPO/ RTO) and improve the performance and efficiency of their   backup routines
• Acting as a subject matter expert for the Support and Sales teams for escalations,     pre-sales and other queries
• Working with the Support and Operations teams to plan, manage and perform   migrations, upgrades and other infrastructure maintenance and projects
• Creating and maintaining clear documentation of hardware, firmware, OS versions   and patch level of appliances managed by the Frontsafe team
• Assisting with on-site datacenters and customer appliance maintenance
• Creating, developing, implementing and documenting new services and solutions in   co-operation with Sales, Support and Operations
• Be ready to work as part of a team that will do everything to get the customers back   up and running in ‘all hands on deck’ situations!
• You will also be writing technical and process documentation to make sure that   services are sustainable

This role will involve some travel to customer sites and off-site datacenters. Also you will be part of a call-on-rotation

Requirements and Experience:

The successful applicant will be experienced in
• Developing and delivering complex technical solutions to enterprise and SMB   customers
• Technical sales/ solution architect functions
• Owning and planning projects
• TSM/ IBM Spectrum Protect, including solid experience in SP server operation /   optimization / design, and backup/recovery of systems and databases
• Strong knowledge of server hardware, ideally IBM Power System L922 (9008-22L)   server
• IBM/Lenovo Direct Attached Storage and Storwize HDS storage
• IBM Spectrum Scale
• IP networking and infrastructure in general

Additionally you might also have experience with:

• Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012 and 2008 Virtualization, especially VMware
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.6 (Maipo)
• Other Enterprise backup products, notably Veeam Linux, (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS)
• Shell script (bash) and PowerShell

Business fluency in both written and spoken English is essential
