On behalf of ChronosHub, we are looking for a VP of Engineering who will be responsible for creating and delivering on engineering strategy for their platform and products.
As a key member of the management team, you’ll work very closely with the two Co-CEOs as well as all teams within ChronosHub such as customer and technical support teams, the commercial team, and within the technical team.
...
ChronosHub is a fast-growing tech company serving customers and more than 1.4 million users all over the world. Research is fundamental to humanity, and they think of their platform as a critical enabler of future research. Their platform offers core business services for publishers, institutions, funders, and researchers. Their purpose is to deliver products and offerings that can transform research publishing so researchers can focus on research.
ChronosHub deals with the complex space of research funding, publishing workflows, payments, and output tracking. It has become the most desired workflow management platform for streamlining of data and simplifying communication flows for everyone. The ecosystem is highly fragmented and, in many ways, dominated by old legacy systems. ChronosHub was designed to challenge the current state and bring new tools and features to life, simplifying the process for everyone involved.
They are start-up with all it entails – a young environment, flat organizational structure, foosball table, freedom and flexibility, ups and downs, but most importantly, everyone learns, evolves and, so far, succeeds.
your profile
At ChronosHub, they value raw, natural talent much more than having the 'right' qualifications – in other words, don't be discouraged from applying for this position even though you don't currently hold a position as VP of Engineering. If you have done the job and can demonstrate that to us, that’s the important part.
- At least 10+ years of deep and hands-on experience from relevant engineering roles
- Preferably a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Engineering Management
- Strong leadership and people skills is a must
- A proven record of managing high-performing development teams and contributing to product teams
- Excellent technical knowledge and experience
- Experience with hiring, growing and promoting software engineers
- Fast learner with a flair for applying best practices and utilizing industry trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (company language is English)
what you will do
You’ll be responsible for creating and delivering on engineering strategy for their platform and products. Their engineering teams play a very important role in bringing their offerings to the market, which is done in close collaboration with the product teams and commercial teams.
We expect that you can create and implement the required structures and teams in the technical team to ensure effective and efficient delivery on their roadmap. This will include establishing processes for hiring, promotion, personal and professional development.
They have a strong empowering culture today built on a high degree of trust among all team members. You’ll be responsible for safe-guarding this and continue to help them develop each team member – both professionally and personally.
You’ll manage all team members in the technical team including one-on-one meetings, stand-ups with the product and planning teams, identifying skills gaps, and providing growth opportunities. They aim to maintain their high retention rate, while they continue to onboard new team members.
You’ll report to the Founder & Co-CEO, who is also acting as the CTO, and their board on the progress on delivering, sharing success and learnings, and plans for filling gaps where they have gaps or opportunities for significant progress. They are looking for someone who is interested in an onsite position in Copenhagen, Denmark, and who can turn their hand to the many facets of engineering.
You’ll also be in direct contact with their existing customers and play a critical role in the onboarding of new customers, shaping and delivering on their platform and product ambitions, while joining in on critical board meetings.
