the role
As the new Power Systems Engineer at PowerCon, you will have the opportunity to do just that. You will be in a key role that combines your strong technical skills with a customer focus. As a part of the sales team, you will serve as the technical specialist in customer interactions and be responsible for assessing opportunities and limitations. This entails understanding the customer's technical needs and translating them into clear technical solutions that align with the available resources. You will largely work at the conceptual level in customer discussions and subsequently collaborate with the engineering team when it comes to project execution.
Your primary internal collaborators are the sales team, with whom you will jointly develop new customer projects. You will also work closely with existing system designers and team leaders in theengineering teams. It is crucial that you can build strong relationships with these departments to ensure a smooth transition from concept to execution. In your role, you will play a central role in guiding the company's projects towards success by ensuring that technical solutions meet customers' expectations as well as the company's internal requirements for efficiency and cost control.
the responsibilities
You, as PowerCon's Power Systems Engineer, will be responsible for configuring new shore power systems and presenting them at a conceptual level. You will be tasked with creating technical sketches and documentation for proposals and will also participate in presenting them to customers in a technical specialist role. Your specific responsibilities will involve:
- Preparing technical sales materials
- Reviewing and understanding the technical tender documents
- Generating a compliance matrix
- Developing high-level solutions in collaboration with system designers, including assessing potential integrations from existing projects
- Serving as the primary technical representative in sales contexts
Approximately 20 business travel days annually must be expected.

Your background can be diverse, but it is crucial for this role that you have knowledge of MV power systems design and thus understand the interplay between electronics, control, and systems. At the same time, you should be able to envision yourself working in a more commercial role where you engage closely with customers.
