about the job
As the Quality Compliance Coordinator at C&D Foods, you will report directly to the Site Quality Manager and share responsibility for the entire site's Food Safety & Quality program. This role is pivotal in ensuring that their operations meet the complex requirements of various retailer COPs, BRC, IFS, and their internal group benchmarking standards, making them "audit ready every day" from both a factory and documentation perspective. You will be instrumental in compiling reports and fostering a strong food safety culture throughout the business. Given the high frequency of audits due to their diverse customer base, your expertise in compliance will be vital. Over time, this role offers the opportunity to step in for the Quality Manager during her absence, broadening your impact and development.
Your core responsibilities will include:
• conduct inspections, testing, and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards (GMP, HACCP, and other food safety regulations).
• Maintaining and strengthening the food safety management system, including reviewing customer COPs and conducting gap analyses.
• Managing the document control process for the food safety management system.
• Leading and participating in customer audits and factory visits, ensuring all non-conformances are robustly closed within agreed timelines.
• Acting as member of Internal Audit, Traceability and HACCP teams.
• Knowing and understanding raw material supplier approval processes, CCPs on site, and ensuring operator training and SOP updates.
• Collaborating closely with all department managers, supervisors, and operators across the business, as well as external auditors and customers.
• Evaluating weekly site quality KPI´s and driving quality improvement projects.
• Supporting the Isolated / Held Stock investigations and Corrective actions when required.
The position is a full-time role based at C&D Foods in Esbjerg, Denmark.

As a person you are self-motivated, proactive with a strong initiative and excellent attention to details, and you have strong problem-solving skills. Your background demonstrates a clear ability to record, interpret, and analyze key process data, and you possess a high level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency. You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy working with diverse stakeholders, and possess excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills. A passion for maintaining high-quality standards in food production is essential.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
• A degree or diploma in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a dedicated Quality role within manufacturing, food processing, or the pharmaceutical industry
• A third level degree qualification in Food Science, Engineering or similar qualification
• A strong background in Food Safety, risk assessments, and Quality Management Systems and process control in a BRC/IFS environment and experience with Tesco or another retailer's COP (Code of Practice)
• Experience in the development and management of food safety management systems in a regulated environment, including process management principles, document control, internal audit, and continual improvement
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations
• The ability to strengthen cooperation within teams and motivate team members
• Strong English skills in writing, speaking, and reading, coupled with excellent communication skills for discussing quality issues.
