the job
In the role of QC Specialist at GomSpace, you will join the Assembly, Integration, and Verification (AIV) team within the Programmes Business Unit in Aalborg. Your main focus will be to ensure that GomSpace upholds the proper standards of quality and performance across the entire production lifecycle.
This is a hands-on role where you will be the go-to expert for ensuring the quality of physical components and assemblies. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing meticulous quality control procedures, working in close partnership with Product Assurance (PA) Managers, AIV technicians, and procurement to foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership.
Key responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed incoming, in-process, and final inspections on all parts, sub-assemblies, and fully integrated satellite systems.
• Ensure assembly activities and products adhere to industry standards such as ECSS/ESA.
• Participate in the non-conformance system, including identifying, documenting, and isolating non-conforming products.
• Support root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage all inspection documentation, creating detailed reports and maintaining quality records for full traceability.
• Collaborate with PA Managers to define inspection plans and align on quality criteria.
• Review and validate test procedures, assembly documentation, and work instructions to ensure clarity and compliance.
about you
We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical foundation and direct, hands-on experience in a quality-focused role. Your background should demonstrate an ability to work with precision and uphold standards, even under the pressure of tight project deadlines.
Your experience should be in quality control or quality assurance, preferably from an industry where quality is paramount, such as aerospace, aviation, defense, or perhaps high-precision medical devices. A technical background is essential, and an engineering degree or diploma in electronics, mechanics, or a similar field will be a clear advantage.
Your mindset and personality are just as important. The ideal candidate is assertive and confident in their technical judgment, with an unwavering commitment to quality. You must have a keen eye for detail and a collaborative spirit that thrives in a down-to-earth, team-oriented environment.
We are looking for skills in/an understanding of:
• Engineering (e.g., electronics, electrical/electromechanical systems, mechanics).
• Quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC 610, ECSS, and/or ESA).
• Advanced inspection tools and techniques.
• Non-conformance, documentation, and traceability management.
• Assertive communication and a collaborative, team-player attitude.
• A meticulous and highly detail-oriented approach to work.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
