drive the future of green technology
As Sr. Application Manager, you will join a dynamic, high-growth organization to advance SaltPower’s unique Pressure Retarded Technology. Reporting directly to the Managing Director & CCO, you will be a key member of the management team, leading technical projects and engaging with the Board to shape the corporate strategy. From the headquarters in Sønderborg, Denmark, you will spearhead technology development within a hybrid work structure that provides flexibility and autonomy. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced start-up environment and become a thought leader in Pressure Retarded Osmosis (PRO) technology.
Your primary tasks include:
• Support the design and development of flat-sheet based membrane modules (spiral, plate and frame, disc tube) for PRO and other potential applications
• Manage pilot, demonstration, and commercial projects at customer locations, from pre-sales technical design to commissioning and post-sales support
• Develop and maintain techno-economic models of system cost and performance, ensuring commercial viability
• Act as the key technical expert, interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to drive the technology and product development forward
• Convert market requirements into concrete product design specifications and troubleshooting complex technical challenges
what do you bring?
You are an engineer at your core, but you also possess a sharp commercial instinct, allowing you to see both the technical possibilities and the business opportunity. You are an expert in the field of membrane applications, energized by the challenge of pioneering new technology in challenging markets. You flourish with independence, taking creative initiative to solve problems and execute on your ideas.
In addition, you offer:
• A degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with membrane applications, particularly in reverse osmosis (RO) and forward osmosis (FO)
• Practical knowledge of membrane module assembly, integrity testing, and system integration, particularly in spiral-wound and hollow fiber configurations
• Proven ability to assess membrane performance degradation mechanisms such as fouling, scaling, and compaction, and to recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
• Strong communication and team-working experience, to effectively interface with customers and internal partners
• Willingness to travel and work at a customer location, including performing site work during pilots, plant commissioning, and troubleshooting up to 25% on average
