the role

You will be the primary global authority for cybersecurity at Cobham Satcom, empowered by a strong business mandate and reporting directly to the CIO. In this position, you will set the security agenda across Cobham Satcom’s sites Europe and US.

Your core mission is to act as a proactive, hands-on leader who embeds the company’s newly acquired certifications into everyday operations, ensuring their security posture is fully aligned with their strategic expansion in the defense sector.

your task and responsibilities:

- Own and execute Cobham Satcom’s global cybersecurity and information security strategy.
- Sustain, optimize, and operationalize newly achieved CMMC Level 2 and ISO 27001 certifications across daily operations.
- Lead NIS2 compliance activities and navigate varying regulatory demands across international markets (US, NATO, EU).
- Collaborate closely with product engineering and R&D teams to support secure product development and DevSecOps initiatives.
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to executive leadership and board stakeholders on cyber risks and priorities.
- Define, manage, and maintain the operational framework for security clearances and third-party security management.
- Engage directly with key European defense and commercial customers to map security requirements and build strong relationships.

your profile

We are seeking an execution-oriented security leader who thrives in an international, high-tech environment. Whether you are an established CISO or a senior security leader ready to take full executive ownership, you bring a pragmatic mindset to complex regulatory demands.

You balance strategic vision with technical understanding, ideally a 70/30 split between strategic/regulatory compliance (ISO 27001, CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, NIS2) and technical/R&D cybersecurity (DevSecOps, product security).

To succeed, you are an outreach-oriented communicator and collaborative stakeholder manager who effortlessly connects engineering teams, international partners, and executive leadership. Experience in defense, aerospace, telecommunications, or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable, along with familiarity with US and NATO requirements.

This position is based at Cobham Satcom's global headquarters in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark, requiring international collaboration and 30–50 days of annual travel.
