the mission
GomSpace is on a mission to make space accessible, affordable, and useful. As the new Funding & RFI Project Manager, you will play a critical dual role in the Product Management department. You will act as the vital bridge between complex technical execution, external consortiums, and new commercial opportunities.
your role: execution and strategy
You will manage a portfolio of high-impact development projects funded by authorities such as the European Space Agency (ESA) and Innovationsfonden. This is not just about internal management; you will lead international consortiums of universities and industry partners to ensure successful delivery.
Parallel to project execution, you will drive the Request for Information (RFI) process. Working closely with Sales and technical specialists, you will coordinate the gathering of complex information to package winning solutions for global customers.
your main responsibilities:
- Funding Execution: Lead projects from start to completion, ensuring all technical milestones and reporting requirements are met.
- Consortium Leadership: Orchestrate collaboration between diverse external partners and GomSpace´s internal engineering teams.
- Financial Oversight: Maintain a perfect overview of project progress, financial reporting, and cash flow analysis.
- RFI/RFP Management: Drive pre-sales processes (typically 3-8 weeks), coordinating inputs from specialists to meet customer needs.
- Roadmap Alignment: Ensure funding activities align with GomSpace’s technology roadmap to secure long-term learning benefits for the organization.
what you bring
You are a senior profile who stays calm under pressure and possesses the diplomatic drive needed to push stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships.
- A background in engineering, preferably within Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5–10+ years of proven technical project management experience.
- Experience with funding projects (ESA/EU) and bid/proposal phases is an advantage.
- Strong financial/reporting flair and fluency in written and verbal English.
- You are open-minded, proactive, resilient, and structured. You enjoy "building the ship while sailing" and can turn innovation into concrete deliverables.
why GomSpace?
Impact: Be part of a globally leading company shaping the future of the nano- and microsatellite industry.
Culture: Join an ambitious, international environment where helpfulness, open communication, and true leadership are core values.
Growth: "Freedom under responsibility" and the mandate to execute your ideas in a dynamic, full-service house.
Practical Information: The position is located at the GomSpace headquarters in Aalborg, Denmark. You will join the Product Management department, working alongside Product Owners and Product Managers, as well as two other Funding Project Managers based in Luxembourg.
