As Sales & Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing the sales team’s potential, synergies with key accounts, especially with Automotive OEMs and Integrators, as well as Stationary Power while developing new leads and driving them to a close.
You will report directly to the VP of Sales, EMEA Region, who is based in Germany. Currently, you are the only Sales and Business Development Manager in the UK, but as the team expands, you will be able to lead new sales managers with the purpose of achieving their aggressive growth forecast, becoming the undisputed leader in fuel cell solutions.
You will collaborate with the European team, the Global Commercial team and other parts of Ballard’s organization to craft sales plans and participate in the go-to-market and overall strategy of their fuel cell solutions. You should expect around 30% of your working time to be dedicated to travel.
areas of responsibility
• Achieve growth and hit sales targets individually at first and as part of the overall sales team
• Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands customer base for multi-year revenue targets ensuring Ballard’s place as the gold standard in the industry
• Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
• Present realistic but aggressive sales and revenue forecasts to the management team
• Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
• Set target customer lists available in key locations to serve existing or newly expanded customer base in the strategic market segments where Ballard operate
• Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate effectively throughout the business
who are you?
You bring a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Automotive and/or Stationary Power Markets which have not only provided you with a sufficient business sense and industry experience, but also a proven track record of success from sales and business development as well as a network in these markets.
Moreover, you contribute with:
• A proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
• An ability to effectively communicate and present at all levels of the organization
• Being an advanced user of MS office and having the ability to navigate seamlessly with IT, while knowledge of Salesforce.com is considered an advantage
• A high proficiency in written and spoken English, while speaking other European languages will be considered an advantage
