This is your opportunity to take on a strategically important role where you will lead the global quality development agenda across the VELUX Group. You will be part of a company where quality is a key priority, and where your expertise will directly contribute to the successful launch of innovative products and the continuous improvement of their global quality systems.
As Director of Quality Development, you will report directly to the Vice President of QHSE&E and be a member of the global QHSE&E leadership team. You will lead a team of Quality Risk Managers and Development Quality Engineers and play a central role in shaping and anchoring their quality development strategy across both VELUX Residential and VELUX.
your areas of responsibility
In this role, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and anchoring methodologies and efficient processes that drive VELUX toward quality excellence. You will act as a key partner to project managers and cross-functional teams, ensuring robust implementation and fulfillment of product, component, and material requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
You will also co-own strategic initiatives such as the development of their stage gate model and contribute to the digitalization of quality processes, helping transform reactive inspections into proactive, data-driven quality assurance.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the global Quality Development team and driving a culture of quality excellence
- Acting as an end-to-end quality assurance partner for projects, ensuring robust implementation of quality requirements
- Developing and anchoring methodologies that support successful product launches and reduce Cost of Poor Quality
- Supporting the advancement of their Six Sigma approach and promoting data-driven decision-making
- Collaborating closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Procurement, and IT to align quality strategies and processes
- Co-creating and implementing strategic initiatives such as the stage gate model and digital quality systems
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of their global quality framework and tools
The role will be based in Jutland, Denmark, and will require approximately 10% travel to collaborate with teams across their global organization.

- Hold a relevant academic degree, preferably in engineering or a related technical field
- Bring several years of experience in quality development or quality assurance in a global manufacturing or product development environment
- Have experience leading teams and driving cross-functional collaboration
- Possess strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset
- Are familiar with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies (certification is a plus)
- Have experience working with digital quality systems and tools
- Speak and write English at a professional level
