about the position
As the new Head of Distribution, you will assume a central leadership role with a strong European focus, serving as RiskPoint's centre of excellence for sales and growth. Your main objective will be to expand their market share in the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises segment via strengthened distribution networks, driving RiskPoint's distribution-based transformation in its next growth chapter.
The role requires strategic matrix leadership of the global distribution team, a deep understanding of market mechanisms, and an intense "hands-on" focus on execution in key countries. Key responsibilities:
• Lead the distribution effort with an intense focus on expanding the company's presence in the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises segment.
• Generate new, global sales ideas and methods, and continuously spar with Country Managers on innovative solutions, including digital sales. Also look into partnership opportunities.
• Provide 'hands-on' mentorship in countries without dedicated sales staff, while serving as a matrix leader and strategic sparring partner across RiskPoint's other represented countries.
• Ensure strategic alignment and close coordination with all key stakeholders, including Country Managers, Product Heads, and the Head of Marketing & Communications.
• Professionalise the sales function (CRM, KPI, Pipeline, P&L) and drive new thinking regarding partnerships, new revenue opportunities, and new business.
• The role requires approximately 60-90 annual travel days, mainly within Europe. Depending on where you are based, this also requires significant travel days to our HQ in Copenhagen.
what do you bring
You are a highly commercial and results-driven professional. You bring a deep understanding of the insurance or financial world and possess a demonstrable track record in establishing and achieving aggressive growth goals.
Additionally, you have:
• 10-15 years of international BtB experience, preferably from the financial or insurance world, complemented by a commercial education at a BA level, or equivalent experience as a sales professional leader.
• Proven experience with Channel and Partner Sales, and proven success as a sales profile focused on relationship building and securing resales.
• Strong track record in creating growth targets with a hands-on and creative approach, generating new sales opportunities, and creating new business.
• Experience in building and professionalising a sales function (e.g., CRM, KPI, Pipeline, P&L).
• Strategic understanding of market mechanisms and a strong commercial mindset.
• Proven ability in managing complex stakeholder environments, including Country Managers and business line leaders.
• Full professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Competency in other European languages where RiskPoint operates would be a strong advantage.
