...
about the roles
As a Senior Payroll Consultant, you will step directly into the client's dynamic environment, taking on a crucial role in ensuring continuity, stabilizing month-end processes, and mitigating operational risks across their North & Central Europe region. Working closely with the client's local payroll specialists, you will assume full accountability for the end-to-end payroll delivery within your designated area.
We are looking for three profiles, each with their own regional focus. Common to all three roles is a strong need for exceptional people skills, a collaborative mindset, and a sharp focus on process documentation and managing ADP solutions.
the three regional profiles
Your specific focus area will depend on your experience:
Profile 1: Benelux Anchor
Your primary responsibility will be payroll stabilization and delivery for the Netherlands and Belgium. You will ensure compliance with local regulations and take ownership of documenting country-specific procedures.
Profile 2: Austria Anchor
You will provide immediate support for Austria as well as controlled support for the setup in Germany. Your focus will be on documenting SOPs, reviewing workload, and ensuring a stable handover without displacing pressure onto the existing team.
Profile 3: Nordic / Multi-country Relief Anchor
You will act as a flexible relief anchor across the countries in the North, initially focusing on Finland and Sweden. You will ensure progress during holidays, absences, and peak periods.
Across all profiles, as a Senior Payroll Consultant, you will:
• Ensure monthly end-to-end payroll delivery and compliance within your scope.
• Collaborate seamlessly with local payroll specialists to rapidly absorb historical context.
• Actively reduce single-point dependency within the client's organization through structured documentation of processes, calendars, and key controls.
• Act as backup for adjacent countries where processes and risk profiles allow.
• Support payroll execution in both outsourced and managed payroll environments.
to be successful in the role:
To thrive in this position, it is crucial that you are highly experienced, proactive, and completely self-driven from day one. You possess strong people skills, enabling you to build relationships and integrate into an existing team rapidly, even in high-pressure situations. You know how to stabilize operations in complex environments without compromising quality or increasing risk.
Furthermore, we expect you to bring the following qualifications:
• Extensive hands-on experience with payroll delivery across multiple European countries.
• In-depth understanding of end-to-end payroll processes, statutory deadlines, and risk management.
• Solid experience with outsourced or managed payroll environments—ideally paired with strong practical and technical ADP experience.
• A proven ability to step directly into delivery and provide immediate, practical support.
• Fluency in English (local language skills are a significant advantage).
practical information
• Duration: Minimum 6 months contract.
• Start date: As soon as possible.
• Location: A permanent base at the office in Aarhus is preferred, but weekly presence in Aarhus during the onboarding phase is an absolute minimum requirement.
